Play parks and green spaces

Trimdon ParkEach village within the Parish has a children’s play park with specialist play equipment for younger children and a multi use games area for young people. They are monitored weekly and maintained by our trained staff to ensure the equipment is safe for children to use. The play equipment is further inspected annually by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and a report prepaired. These inspections have found that the Council consistently maintains its play parks to a good and safe standard.

Play park locations

Trimdon Village play park is located behind Skerne Avenue, Trimdon Village, TS29 6PS.

Trimdon Colliery play park is located behind Grosvenor Terrace, Trimdon Colliery, TS29 6DH.

Trimdon Grange play park is located next to the Trimdon Grange Community Centre, Salters Lane, Trimdon Grange, TS29 6TB.

There is either a junior or adult sized football pitch with goal posts within each village.

The Trimdon Grange Rec is an enclosed area surrounded by woodland with areas of wildflower meadow. There is a picnic area with tables. One of the adult football pitches is also located here. Additional tree planting in autumn/winter 2022 will further enhance the area and transform the Rec into a small woodland park.

Trimdom Village has a typical village green area with a beautiful Norman built church (St Mary Magdelene) centrally located.

Year round you will see plenty of floral displays in tubs, hanging baskets, together with well laid out flower beds and borders.  Our grounds maintenance team work hard to keep the villages, and their respective green areas, colourful and tidy.

Supporting the environment, its flora and fauna, together with working to reduce CO2 emissions, is a key priority of the Council.
